Art has always been the center of her life. From an early age, she was infused by her mother who also is an artist, and followed the felt call to create across multiple mediums, using art as a way to process anxiety and understand the world around her. What began as her refuge evolved into her lifelong purpose. At twelve, Megan knew she wanted to become an art therapist — an aspiration that continues to guide her work. Her practice is rooted in healing, curiosity, and love for the natural world. Megan’s work is an exploration of aliveness — inspired by the quiet magic woven between nature and human connection. Inspired by ocean creatures, insects, and other countless forms of the natural world, she approaches each piece with a deep sense of curiosity and respect. Watercolor being her primary medium — which has taught her patience, surrender, and precision. She also explored many other mediums, such as stained glass, ceramics, drawing, acrylic painting, sculpture, and graphic design, often incorporating thrifted/ found objects and recycled materials as a reflection of her respect for the environments that inspires her. This is where Eclectic Aura creation stems from. Megan was known as “the critter kid” as a child for her love of animals. Her most precious childhood memories are sitting in the woods and drawing animals and objects of the natural world. She has always felt a deep connection to nature – Causing this passion to come full circle when she discovered the Field Museum and the world of scientific illustration. Her journey into this field deepened in college under the mentorship of Peggy Macnamara, artist-in-residence at the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago. During an internship at the museum, Megan immersed herself in natural history collections, spending hours studying preserved specimens. This experience strengthened her devotion to careful observation and to honoring the integrity of the natural world through detail and color.
